Speedy deletion of Image:KenDodd.jpg

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Image:KenDodd.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:KenDodd.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Kelly hi! 02:37, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

To be more specific, the problem with this image was that it was licensed with an incompatible license on Flickr [1]. The Flickr license prohibited commercial use, while Wikipedia content can be reused for any reasons, including commercial ones. So, the licenses are incompatible. Let me know if you have questions.--Kubigula (talk) 04:03, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Request for copyediting

[edit]

Hello. I was wondering if you would be interested in doing some copyediting on the Insane Clown Posse article? I currently have it up for a FAC, and the previous copyeditors who worked on the article don't seem to have done much copyediting on the sections following the "History" section. Would you mind taking a look at the sections "Style and influences," "Live performances" and "Controversy and criticism"? (Sugar Bear (talk) 22:17, 25 June 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Speedy deletion of Rushdi Abu Alouf

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Rushdi Abu Alouf requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. Edition of HALRIS

[edit]

Who are you do you have an idea about HALRIS even after reading that article??? Your editing has completely changed the defination of system??? little knowledge is always dangereous??? what were you thinking while editing that article??? You had written it is used for computerizarion of its tehsils!!!! Do you even know what is a tehsil??? Tehsil was already computerized so dont try to edit the information you have no idea of because your editing has lead to false information which is in my country a crime. Thanks and Regards--Shekhartagra (talk) 08:02, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi If You had seen i had provided 2 refrences at the bottom and those were sufficient to validate the article as they were from Govt website. Your editing lead to FALSE information. I can understand that it was hard to understand becuase it uses terms and thigs that only Indian citizens can understand because those terms are native to the HALRIS and therefore can not be removed from the article else would change the meaning of content and If it was hard to understand then how come you have edited that article??? Please explain this thing because you have raised the question on other content of wikipedia also where now I am thinking if anybody can edit the information and also can raise the question on its inclusion and propose the deletion how much true is the content on Wikipedia?? I am disappointed by the way its Adminstrator and Moderators are working. You need more refrences please check

Typo redirect Mark lesko

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Mark lesko, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Mark lesko is a redirect page resulting from an implausible typo (CSD R3).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Mark lesko, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. /* Zanesville (novel) */

[edit]
  • As to the cult status, I'm not sure exactly how to reference that, and it is the only thing that I can understand why you deleted it.
  • As to the plot summary, yes, I can, but I didn't think it was necessary since the summary is used all over the place online anyway.
  • I did provide a reference to where it was hailed as a revolutionary work of surreal black comedy. It is a quote from a Booklist review of the book. The source was cited and linked to.
  • I provided sources for the Rudy Rucker claim as well, including his blog mentioning the book and two issues of an online zine that he publishes that included works from the author of Zanesville, which were published after Rucker read Zanesville.
  • The content referring to Kevin Costner was not a reference to the movie, it is a reference to the description of the character within the book. The character is described as having the voice of Kevin Costner.
  • The promotional pamphlet is used as a source because the Legendary Stardust Cowboy sent a fan letter to the author which has been quoted in promotional materials for the book. Any ideas on how to better source that?

Bladeofgrass,

Please stop picking apart my article. The changes you are making are completely unnecessary and unhelpful. I do not understand why you are editing an article about a subject of which you clearly have no familiarity. You are not helping to clarify or verify any of the information provided in the article, you are simply destroying it and have now moved into debating semantics, for what purpose I can only assume is to aggravate. Do you honestly see a major difference between "object to" and "are offended by?" Why are you harassing me? Do you have nothing better to do with your time?

Huwala

[edit]

Hello Sir, I am Hussain Janahi ( H.Totti) Sorry that i didn't answer you directly. But I just didn't see the message, didn't know how to reply and to put my signature.

Now about the Huwala topic, sir, please don't delete my article, i spent such a long time on it. I really worked hard for it. And i know that at the end, the sources are the one to be judged, I promise that i am going to get the sources.

Now for your question, I am a guy whom everybdoy in Bahrain Officially call Holi, from the huwala. But thats just a culture view here, it has nothing to do about my background and blood which is pure Persian. Indeed However, this issue is about the Huwala from Arabian roots only I agree, but people just wanna join this and add us Sunni Persians to them, this is very wrong Sir. And thats why, to compare them and show the difference i also wrote about the Sunni Persians, in which like i mentioned (and it's 100% true fact in Bahrain) that they came from Iran almost together. The factors i mentioned later, from society made the persians "Try to join and get mixed" with the Huwala and arabs! The families i have put there, is to define and show which families are the Huwala, and which ones are the Sunni Persians, in which sadly people here just mix them up.

I wonder if will agree or not, because your not from Bahrain neither a Persian yourself sir, but what I said IS true! for the later parts such as DNA, I didnt not write this one. But just for those who have curosity, they can check their blood and and their DNA index, how does their blood DNA balances? and according to which ethincity index?

I think what i am going to do in the future, is to move this Sunni Persians issue to a seperate article, thats better i think, and there i am going to write about Persians in the GCC countries, Shia and Sunni beter. But I just need time and more sources. By the way, you want to really make sure that the one who wrote the CURRENT article I am going to delete, is not correct about his information? Look at the arabian families he has put there, notice that " Al Konj Family" ? this is hilarious! Because in my version, or copy, I have pasted them in the Persians Families, and they are most easier ones to spot, they come from an Iranian City called Khonj, and it has an article in Wikipedia here!!! in the fars province! It's an old city which it's history goes back to more than 2000 years ago, and was a religious sacred city for worshiping fire. Please answer me about this soon, and forgive my broken english here, cuz i am in a hurry and have to microsoft word to correct it. I answered this because you were very polite to me. Plus these are my origins, and I am not Arab. I must show everybdoy not only the knowledge I have, but also the truth. Thx.
